The Day…

On 13th morning at around 6’o’ clock the bus came we loaded our luggage everybody had come except for Dhruv. It was a surprise for Khushi we all had planned.

Khushi was sad and sitting in the bus. Dhruv came slowly out of Khushi’s view. He came from behind and covered Khushi’s eyes.

Who is it Khushi?” I asked her.

May be Ajay.”

Who?” Dhruv let go his hand and came in front of her.

Oh its you, I thought it was him.”

Who’s he?”

My first boyfriend.”

What?” Dhruv could not control his anger.

I was just joking.” Khushi said laughing.” I caught you by surprise didn’t I.”

I won’t talk to you.” Dhruv said. Khushi hugged him. That was the end of the fight.

Everybody got into the bus. Diya and I sat together so did, Khushi and Dhruv and the hot new pair of Sahil and Riya.

The bus took off. In the beginning there was shouting and hooting. Then we played antakshari for some time. Then there was a lot of leg pulling going on. Sahil and Riya were the main attraction for it. We were enjoying ourselves. After some time everybody got tired and we just sat. Diya and I sat together and were talking.

Raj isn’t it lovely.”

Yes, I wish this journey will never end. And the time remains still.”

I wish that too.”

How is the new pair.”

Enjoying every moment. Trying to make the few moments they have as memorable and sweet as possible.”

Yes I also never forget the things you say.”

Yes these are the moments we live on.”

Raj what if we don’t get married. Or if I Die.”

Don’t talk like that nothing will happen to you. Absolutely nothing.” I said with anger and went to a corner. She came and sat next to me put her head on my shoulder.

Raj I am sorry.”

Never ever say something like that again.”

I promise I won’t” I had tears in my eyes. I wiped them off.” If anything happens to you then…..”

Then.”

I will also die.”

I told I am sorry.” She hugged me.

Well, I am feeling hungry”

Me too.”

Lets ask others.” I asked.” So guys feeling hungry.”

Yes” everybody echoed. We stopped the bus at a roadside midway restaurant.

We refreshed ourselves. Boy it was tiring. After having lunch we moved again. Now everybody was eager to hear how Rajeev and Ritu Bhabhi had met. We all gathered around them.

“Well we were in school. May be in the 12th grade. Your Bhabhi had come to stay in our building. We used to meet everyday. Then at a friends party I proposed to her. At first she said no. Then after sending her a lot of flowers and letters did she say yes. It was during this that you all had helped. I owe it to you people.” We all felt proud of ourselves.” Then like many Hindi film there was opposition from her parents but later they too agreed. We had a happy wedding.” Bhabhi held his hand. She was beautiful.

Then one by one, we all told our story. First it was my turn. Then it was Khushi and Dhruv. Then Sahil and Riya. We all told our story. While talking we didn’t realise how quickly time had passed and that we were about to reach Puri. It was around 9 pm. It had been so wonderful.

The resort was so nice it had a swimming pool. Tennis court , health club, a library. a beach was attached to it. We had booked Cottages. Each cottage had four rooms. Very nicely decorated. We all occupied our rooms. Rajeev and Ritu went to their room. Rohit and myself took one room. Karan and Deepak the other. Dhruv and Manav the next in our block. Sahil and Aakash the next.

The girls were in a separate cottage. Diya and Nisha took one. Riya and Puja the other. Sakshi, Khushi and Muskan were in the other. We had our dinner then we went for a walk on the beach.

It was a beautiful moonlit night. Sahil and Riya walked away from the group. The rest were walking in a group. Diya and I decided to sit at the beach. Rohit and Nisha also Sat with us. We found a spot then Diya sat and I kept my head on Diya’s lap. Diya moved her hand in my hair. Aha it felt so lovely. Rohit and Nisha giggled.

Why are you both giggling.” I said.

Don’t worry your turn would also come then you would know how romantic it is.” Diya said. They couldn’t stop giggling. Then I looked at Nisha and said.

Nisha didn’t you have a boyfriend.” I asked.

No. Never.”

A girl like you never got a proposal. You must be kidding us.”

Yes I did but none interested me.”

What kind of a guy you want?” Rohit asked.

Well he should be smart, good looking, intelligent, above all caring.”

Well I fit the description very well.” I said jokingly.

Yeah but what to do you are already booked.”

Yeah too bad.” I said.” Well I can leave Diya if you want.” Diya hit me. “Just kidding.”

Rohit how is your dream girl?” Diya asked.

Nothing special.”

But you must have got a girl in mind.” Diya asked again.

Well I just want simplicity in the girl. She should be down to earth, loving and caring.”

Well hope you get her soon.” Nisha said.

Yes we hope too.” Diya said.

Well guys when you both find your love we all will go together. It will be fun.” I added.

Sure.” Rohit said.

Diya and myself left as we were tired. Rohit and Nisha sat for some more time.

Nisha aren’t they a lovely pair.”

Yes they are. Raj is so sweet I haven’t seen many people who care for others as he does.”

Yes although he is a bit jovial he is very caring and nice at heart.”

I wish I find someone as caring as he is.”

You will.”

Rohit didn’t you ever had a girlfriend.”

Yes. You are there.”

No I meant someone special.”

No.”

Hiding something.”

No why should I.”

Yes you are.”

Well actually I had a friend in class 10 her name was Tina. I had a crush on her. Then when we reached 11th she left school to join another. Then we never met.”

You didn’t say anything to her.”

No, I was a bit scared. Besides she loved somebody else.”

Well I am sorry.”

No why should you be. It happens, not everybody get the person they love.”

You still love her don’t you,”

No not really. But yes I remember her occasionally. As I told she was just a crush.”

So there is scope for someone else.”

Yes there is.”

Anybody right now.”

No. just searching for one.”

Lets go everybody has left.” Nisha said.

Okay.”

Rohit came. He told me what they were talking about.

She is a nice girl.” Rohit said.

Yes. She is.” I said putting the lights off.” Are you in love with her Rohit.”

What rubbish.”

No seriously are you.”

No. She is a nice girl. A good friend that’s it.”

Well I am telling you. You won’t realise and you would be in love.”

Goodnight Raj.”

Goodnight.”
