It was about 12’o’clock. Every­body took their posi­tions. Then the lights went out. There was some scream. In the dark we had gath­ered around Nisha. The lights were switched on.

“Happy birth­day.” We shouted. We brought the cake out.

“Thank you.” Said Nisha look­ing happy.

We handed her the gifts we had brought for her. She then cut the cake. We enjoyed our­selves. Then everybody’s par­ents left, all of us went to the ter­race where we had arranged for music and snacks for us

“Nisha happy birth­day.” Rohit.

“Thank you.”

“Here I have Brought you something.”

“What is it?”

“See for yourself.”

“A teddy bear. Wow. Its so cute.” Nisha.” Thanks Rohit.”

“Nisha happy birth­day.” I said.” This is from Diya and me.”

“Thank you. This was a nice sur­prise Raj.”

“Thank you.”

We par­tied all night. We went back home around 5’o’clock. I was so tired I woke up around 2pm in the after­noon. After hav­ing lunch I went over to Nisha’s place Diya was also there. They had also just had Lunch.

“So any plans for the evening.” I asked.

“Noth­ing really. We are too tired besides we have col­lege tomor­row” Nisha.

“Good.” Diya.

“Lets meet on the ter­race at around seven.” I said.

“I will leave for home. Mom had called up we have to go out some­where.” Diya.

“Okay.” I said. “well bye then. Meet you in col­lege Diya.” I left. Diya went home.

Rohit and I went to the gym in the evening. We dis­cussed about the party. And the fun we had last night. After gym Rohit left as he had to go some­where. I went to the ter­race not many were there only Karan, Sahil, Sak­shi and Nisha.

“So Sahil you have been keep­ing in touch with Riya. “ I asked.

“Yes. I call her every Sat­ur­day and Sun­day plus we e-​​mail each other reg­u­larly. I talked to her this morn­ing. She was ask­ing how was the party.” Sahil.

“How is she?”

“Well busy in her studies.”

“Sak­shi where’s Manav?”

“He is sleeping.”

“This time of the day.”

“Well he is not feel­ing well.”

“Lets go and see him.” Karan.

“yeah you all go I will come later.” I said.

“Nisha you are com­ing.” Sakshi.

“Yeah I will be there. You go.” Nisha. The three left for Manav’s place.

“Raj thank you for the party.”

“wel­come.”

“Raj where is Rohit.”

“He said he had to go some­where. You are miss­ing him.”

“No just like that. Don’t see you with­out him much often.”

“Yeah he is my best friend. We have known each other for a very long time. He is a won­der­ful per­son. He doesn’t talk much, but you can look to him for good advise. Girls just love him and he shies away from them.”

“Really.”

“Yeah. Nisha I think you like him a lot don’t you.” I could sense something.

“Yeah.” She said softly. I could sense some­thing else.

“Well but he doesn’t like cer­tain things in you.” I said try­ing to get her to say something.

“Oh who cares.” She said then after a pause.” Well did he say some­thing about me.”

“Yes when today we were in the gym he said some­thing about you.”

“ what did he say?”

” I can’t tell you.”

“Hey tell me what did he say.” Nisha said look­ing angry.

“Well he said you are to west­ern in style you can­not carry Indian clothes well.”

“Is that so I will show him tomor­row.” Nisha had an angry look on her face.

“What will you do?” I asked.

“Well you will see tomor­row.” She said and left for home. I went over to Manav’s place to check him out. Later in the night Diya called up.

“Hi.” Diya.

“Hey I have got some hot news for you.”

“What?”

“Watch out Nisha tomorrow.”

“Why? What hap­pened?” I told her what had happened.

“It will be great fun. Well meet you in col­lege tomorrow.”

“Yeah bye sweetheart.”
